Jul. 25–The Food and Drug Administration has approved Abbott Laboratories’ popular thyroid drug, Synthroid–the second-most prescribed medication in the U.S., the drug maker said late Wednesday.
Although Synthroid has been on the market for nearly 50 years, the drug had never formally been granted regulatory clearance because it actually predated FDA rules and regulations.
